Ski and Avalanche Courses

Ski & Sail

The region of Sunnmore and Romsdalen Alps are well known for spectacular mountains accessible for mountaineering activities during winter and summer. We highly recommend the combination of ski mountaineering based from a sailboat to show you some of the possibilities for a “once in a lifetime” experience in these special surroundings.  We only use IVBV/ IFMGA mountainguides, who also are local and know the area well. This gives the group a unique flexibility, and is also a security issue. Season We would recommend Ski & Sail tours in this area, from February to May. Arrival We recommend arriving Molde or Trondheim. We will arrange transportation to the sailboat, approx. 15 minutes travel time from Molde Aiport. The sailing to the different touring location is an experience in itself with mountains up to 1500 m straight up from the fjords. Accommodations/Group size We have two different alternatives; one sailboat for max. 8 persons (guests), and one that could have 12 persons (guests). Both boats are fully equipped and heated for a comfortable stay even under cold and wet conditions.   What`s included Guide fees, boat rental, food for breakfast, lunches and dinner, technical group gear, rescue insurance. Not included: Alcohol on board. Transport to/from Molde/Trondheim. Equipment Please keep your luggage to a minimum. The boat is rather small and cannot accommodate excess baggage. Ideally you should arrive with a ski bag for skis, poles and boots a duffle bag with all your clothing etc and your day pack. Equipment list will be sent 2 weeks before departure. Guding ratio: 6:1 and 12:2 max Personal requirements: Experienced skiers with a good physical fitness. The most important is that the group is on a similar level. There are many hundred possibilities for ski touring in the area, for all levels.
